I guarantee you won’t say that once you’ve tried our Sumatra Mandheling Permata Gayo Fair Trade Organic coffee. Besides, who can resist the urge to quote “Liar, Liar”? We were recently reviewed on Coffee Review and were pleased with the review. Do you want to read it? Go to http://www.coffeereview.com/review.cfm?ID=2115 for the full review.
We chose this coffee because it ISN’T like other Sumatras we have tried. It has a hint of acidity, warm dark chocolate overtones with molasses and herbs. Not average.
Come in and try a cup or a bag…or both!!
Or less is more. That is the approach we take when preparing the perfect cup of coffee. Our time and energy go into the many aspects of quality that make a memorable drink for every customer that walks through our doors.
It is relatively easy to make a good cup of coffee, but we don’t believe that is good enough. We drink the coffee also, so we want to create drinks that we label “amazing” all day long. We believe that the effort expended in selecting, roasting, and preparing these mind-blowing coffees is worth the extra effort. We also believe that the customer must agree that the effort was worthwhile as evidenced in their drink. With a renewed focus on creating the most amazing cup of coffee, we are proud to NOT drown it in a quart of milk. We believe that coffee must be brewed (whether drip or espresso) to highlight its many facets of flavor and texture. In this focus we believe it should be enjoyed in smaller quantities than the “big gulp” sizing you find at other coffee companies. We are not judging other companies, we are stating that we have a different focus and don’t choose the same path.
The decision may not make us the most popular among the masses, but our hope is that it will earn the respect of the people whose passion is in the details.
Much like wine, we don’t drink coffee for the buzz, we craft it as an art.
We hope you can appreciate our passion and enjoy the resulting beverage.

To be enjoyed this week.
Take everything you know about Sumatra coffees and throw them in the recycle bin!! Then make your way to Mud Bay and have a cup of Sumatra Blue Batak Tarbarita Peaberry. Toasted nuts, heated wood planks (like on a BBQ), spices, chocolate, fresh herbal sweetness, and lingering malty notes…plus some classic Sumatra characteristics. Really.
Do you know who Haile Selassie was? Only the emperor of Ethiopia for 43 years. That was a long and peaceful reign. Now we have a coffee that honors his namesake; Ethiopian Sidamo Haile Selassie Dry Processed coffee. We are happy to invite you on a journey of the senses. We have just brought in the most fabulous Ethiopian Sidamo to date. It hails from the birthplace of coffee and leaves you wondering how a coffee can have such range and depth in a single cup.
It starts with copious amounts of ripe strawberry, blueberry, and blackberry. Then as it cools, it transforms into honeydew melon, apricot, peach, mango and milk chocolate. It is like a complex wine that is meant to be savored.
We are offering this limited selection by the cup or by the bag. Come by and get a cup brewed fresh to order and then relax and savor the nuanced roller-coaster of tongue-tingling amazingness.

We have been working toward focusing on what we do best….coffee. Part of that process is sourcing the finest coffees available that are grown and purchased responsibly. We have found some of these coffees that will leave an impression no matter what you have tried in the past. It is our goal to exceed the expectations of our customers and with these coffees, we believe we will. Look for them this weekend as we are just bringing them in to roast today.
We will be happy to brew a mind-blowing coffee one cup at a time. See you soon.
The new crop Brazil coffees are in and we have a couple to choose from. But first, I would like to focus on one, Del Arisse. I am cupping this coffee for the first time this morning (1/14) and am rather dazzled!! It is processed using the semi-washed (pulped natural) method which leaves much of the fruity sweetness in bean. The particular characteristics of this coffee are; sweet syrupy mouthfeel (like maple syrup), and bold dry fruit layered with a big chocolate finish. I am seriously impressed with this coffee.
You can expect to see it on the shelves tomorrow (1/15).
