Lago del fuego?

November 2nd, 2009

I don’t really speak spanish so its likely that I just destroyed “Lake of Fire” in my futile attempt to create a good blog title. Oh well…we can’t all be linguists.

Speaking of fire, I would like to draw your attention to a new product we are carrying. Instead of being limited by only one amazing chai, we have broadened your horizons by offering two!! If you like to have a bit of heat in your chai, we now have a wonderful chai latte experience to dazzle your senses and liven your day.

Not to worry, our new chai comes from the same people who make our regular chai so you don’t have to worry about losing an old favorite. Just to make it better, it STILL doesn’t have any high-fructose corn syrup to spike you into a diabetic coma.

For those of you who like your chai a little dirty, this is a perfect balance of sweet, properly pulled espresso and a gingery tingle that should make your head spin comfortably.

Music October 30th!!

October 20th, 2009

The Strangers at Mud Bay, JPEG

Recently there was a national coffee conference in Seattle where baristas competed, industry professionals presented, and thousands of caffeinated individuals interacted. In one such activity, coffee professionals were asked to recognize up to 36 aromas from separate vials of liquid.

Our barista Kelsey tied for first place for best nose in the whole conference with 13 out of 36!! It’s a lot more difficult than it sounds and 13 out of 36 is a notable accomplishment. Make sure you congratulate Kelsey next time you are in the store.

Way to go Kelsey!!

When two worlds collide.

September 22nd, 2009

How’s that for a dramatic intro? In all reality, it should be labeled “When two seasons shake hands and reach a compromise.”  because that’s what it feels like outside. When it came to choices the seasons seemed to take the “Yes Man” approach and simply  say “Yes!”. We have some really cold nights and unseasonably warm days which makes me think of coffee in it’s many forms. Then again, lots of things make me think of coffee in its many forms.

You now have a reason to treat yourself to a steaming hot beverage (it could be coffee or tea…we’re not picky) in the morning and a frosty cold Espresso Shake in the afternoon. We’ve got you covered for all seasons even if the seasons seem to be walking down the sidewalk holding hands.

Stay tuned for a hooded sweatshirt update (We should have more soon).

Winds of change

September 14th, 2009

When our company first began, we were looking for ways to simplify and normalize all that we did. Nearly six years later, we have become reasonably adept at adjusting to change. When the most recent rendition of our website began, we announced that we would embrace the “change is the only constant” approach and…well…we have. On that note, the roaster person (must remain PC here) has done the annual “throw-out-everything-you-know-and-start-over-again” approach to roasting and will be making the coffees you love even better.

As if that wasn’t reason enough to come by….

…unlike many coffee companies, when we sell you a pound of coffee, you get an ACTUAL POUND, not 12 ounces. Look, you’re saving money and you didn’t even know it!!

Drop by and see what we mean….It’ll change your life.
